Location : Dubai International Airport, Terminal 2, Dubai, UAE

This frenzy of colour and glamour is not a mall but Dubai's new Terminal 2. From mysteriously suspending LED lights in the glazing to the brushed aluminum columns supporting sail like structures....the place is a wonderful experience!

It seems however, that the Designers must have got the expected passenger count wrong again as this Terminal after just 2 months' opening is as crowded and suffocating as Terminal 1 during peak hours!

Very classy. Although it does look quite chaotic for a terminal... Perhaps they preferred form over function? ;p

hehe, yeah but this is the "commercial" core bit of the airport - its centred on a huge plaza. However this central commercial core is flanked on both sides by proper terminal arrivals/departures lounges/gates which run parallel.

I liked Amsterdam Schipol airport - it was leagues ahead of Frankfurt.

Schiphol airport is an excellent example of what they call 'Dutch Design'. I'm very proud of it actually. I remember when I went on a plane for the first time there. Felt like I'd been doing it my entire life. That's how an airport should work.

And may I add once again ... the variety of Cheese sold was unparalleled on any airport! Cheese which afforded me many happy omelettes in the coming months. Omelettes with cheese i fondly remember I bought from... Schipol.
